The update presents properties and project affected persons that are additional to those presented on the submitted RAP. 1.1 REASONS FOR PREPARING ADDENDA TO RAP During the works done on site for the initial project phase when the original RAP report was prepared, some of the affected properties were undetected due to the absense of any indication of plot ownership/occupance, drawing or benchmarks on site. In some cases owners of such properties did not present themeselves at RAP Kgotla meetings or at PAPs consultation meetings. After finalization and submission of the main RAP Report, some additional affected properties were identified. During the compensation exercise of properties affected by the project team, PAPs not identified in the RAP ( additional project affect persons) came to present themselves for properties that were not recorded in the original RAP report. Such claims were verified with local authorities, for example the Kgotla and the landboards. Once claims to property were verified the process of project affected persons consultation was triggered where individuals were consulted on the basis of prior informed consent. The consultation method followed was that as discussed in detail in the main RAP report. PAPs were also informed of the respective grievance commitices and the details of the chairpersons per village committee were also shared. In the drawings attached to this addendum, location and property affections for additional PAPs is shown. These drawings also show location information of Old PAP's and avoided PAPs (which were the alignment By-passes for the villages of Selokolela and Lothakane West as shown in Appendix 2 Sheet 22 and 35 respectively). In the appendix 3 and 4 appear details about asset drawings, assets mapping, line diagrams and roads department budget confirmation letter respectively Consistent with the World Bank's disclosure policy, this amendment of resettlement action plan (RAP) will be publicly disclosed in Botswana at kgotla's of Project Affected villages and the Office of District Commissioner.
