The credit is effective since December 6, 2018. The project has 3 components and is progressing towards the Project Development Objectives: The first component on Urban Planning, Services and Governance is progressing well and has already achieved the launch of a partnership between 2 universities for the development of a Master in Transport Planning from the French leading engineering school, Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees at the INP-HB in Yamoussoukro with a first cohort of 19 students that graduated in September 2021. A second cohort has joined the Program in January 2021 and is progressing well. The 3rd Cohort has been recruited. The Addressing of roads and buildings in Abidjan is on track, with the first address plaques to be put in place by September 2022. Other activities of the component have been delayed but the tender notice for the Rosiers storm water basin and the lagoon transport stations works will soon be launched. 6/20/2022 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report GREATER ABIDJAN PORT - CITY INTEGRATION PROJECT (P159697) On the second component related to Transport Infrastructure, significant progress have been recorded, with the signing of all the major works contracts. Works will soon start on the Akwaba roundabout. Those relating to the Y4 ring road (sections 2 and 3) have been delayed by the Resettlement Action Plans implementation, but works will start in July and September 2022 respectively. On the 3rd component, the Logistics Platform sub-component a reconfiguration is being considered, to move towards barge transport between Vridi and Songon, then an exit on the Northern Motorway. A final decision is expected during the project Mid-Term Review mission planned for June 20- 30, 2022, based on the findings of the preliminary technical/economic/financial/environmental studies which have been finalized.
