KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The Cote d'Ivoire Water Security and Sanitation Support Project (PASEA) was approved by the World Bank Board in May 2024 and became effective on September 18th. The project coordination unit is in place and starting to launch calls for tenders for key activities under the project. The Procurement Plan has been published and a program of work and budget has been adopted by the Steering Committee, which is under the overall guidance of the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (MINHAS). The first implementation support mission took place in November 2024 and was marked by a launching ceremony in the presence of the Ministers of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (MINHAS) and the Ministry of Water Resources and Forestry (MINEF). 4.2 MPA Program Development Objective Original MPA Program Development Objective (Approved as part of Approval (Seq. 1) package on 24-May-2024) The Program Development Objective is to increase access to safely managed water and sanitation services, to improve the management of water resources and to strengthen the technical performance of water sector institutions in selected regions of Côte d’Ivoire.
