KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The project is making satisfactory progress towards achieving the Project Development Objectives, with rehabilitated infrastructure benefitting approximately 3.6 million people (48 percent women) in flood-affected Sindh. The components managed by the Sindh Irrigation Department (SID) continue to demonstrate strong performance. All civil works under the component, including the rehabilitation of flood protection infrastructure have been completed. This includes 201 kilometers of rehabilitated embankments and 156,753 hectares of land benefitting from restored irrigation systems. The Planning and Development Department (P&DD) components have also made significant progress with civil works underway for the restoration of roads, water supply and drainage schemes, and expansion of Rescue 1122. 5.
