KEY ISSUES & STATUS Dec 19, 2024 Page 1 of 12 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Higher Education for Economic Transformation Project (P166415) 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions Overall, the project’s implementation progress remains moderately satisfactory (MS) at the MTR phase. Over the past semester, the project has increased the pace of implementation, achieving significant progress across all components. This has been reflected in the results framework where four of five PDO level indicators have been fully achieved and 9 of 13 intermediate indicators have also been achieved or surpassed. The team encouraged the NPIU and PIUs to develop a communications strategy over the next few months to better communicate project impact. This will include highlighting interventions related to students with special needs and the socioeconomic impact of the project. The key decisions resulting from the MTR mission include: (i) revision of the results framework to recalibrate end targets in line with current project context; and (ii) support the higher education institutions with staffing strategies for new campuses and infrastructure being constructed. 5.
