4. KEY ISSUES & STATUS
4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions
The Climate and Disaster Resilient Cities Project supports the government in tackling the challenges related to
climate and disaster resilient housing and infrastructure intervention in Project provinces in Türkiye. The Loan
Agreement covering components implemented by the Urban Transformation Presidency affiliated to the Ministry of
Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change (MoEUCC) was signed on December 30, 2022, and became effective
on April 18, 2023. The resilient housing sub-loan program supported under Component 2 was launched for Izmir
Province in March 2024. The Urban Transformation Presidency started collection of sub-loan applications through
its online system. The Loan Agreement covering components managed by İller Bankası was signed on March 21,
2024 and became effective on July 17, 2024.
