KEY ISSUES & STATUS Dec 13, 2024 Page 1 of 9 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Rwanda Feeder Roads Development Project (P126498) 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The project has achieved 696.1km of rehabilitated roads to date, representing 94 percent completion rate. Currently a cumulative total of 696.1 km is now completed against the planned total of 741 km (considering that the parent project roads are in total 291km). Maintenance activities are ongoing, both under the parent project and AF. Progress is now at 100% in Nyagatare, Gatsibo, Nyaruguru and Gakenke; 99.7 % in Nyabihu; and 55.8% in Rutsiro owing to the delay of the Lot 1 works. Rehabilitation works in Nyaruguru Lots 1&2 are now completed and under maintenance. In Gakenke Lots 2&3 are now under maintenance while Lot 1 is now completed from the last mission. For the six districts under AF, 408.8km are now completed up from 366.2 km at the time of the last mission. Maintenance works in the parent four districts i.e. Rwamagana, Gisagara, Karongi and Nyamasheke are fully underway. The Nyamasheke Lot 2 contractor and consultant are finally onboard with works underway. The Road Maintenance Fund continues to support the District Roads Class 1 while the District Roads Class 2 are maintained by the Local Community Associations for Rwamagana and Gisagara. For the six districts under AF, maintenance works are conducted by contractors and are now underway in all districts expect for Lot 1 in Rutsiro which is still under rehabilitation 5.
