KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions Eleven months before project completion, the project has accelerated with all six works contracts signed and 97% of the remaining project funds committed, as shown by the increase in disbursements (+10.4%) and commitments (+US$12.1 million). The list of key achievements of the project over the last six months includes: • - An increase in the number of people with access to safely managed sanitation services. • - The approval of the MOPHRH Gender Strategy by the Council of the Ministry on 23 October 2024. • - A physical progress of 22% for the Maputo sewerage works. • - A physical progress of 28% for the Quelimane WWTP and sewerage works. • - Delivery of 850 out of 4,400 household toilets in Tete. The direct debit mechanism for transferring collected sanitation tariffs is now in place for all seven municipalities (five Project's municipalities, two non-project) that have introduced this revenue source for sanitation services in the country. Sanitation revenues remitted to the project municipalities have reached US$ 5.3 million in three years, exceeding the project target of US$ 3.2 million. 5.
