4. KEY ISSUES & STATUS

4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions
The Project was approved by the Board of the World Bank on March 27, 2020. Out of 21 civil works
contracts in Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, 6 contracts are
completed, 14 contracts are under execution, and one contract has been terminated and will be retendered
for balance works. A combined equivalent physical progress has reached 551km of completed road
sections (78% of the total road sections 704km). Consultant services related to supervision of civil works
contracts, technical audit, project management, resettlement action plan implementation are ongoing. On
the Institutional Capacity Enhancement and Road Safety Components, 1) improvement of highway safety
monitoring and data analytics, 2) mainstreaming safety and green technologies in the development of
highways, and 3) An integrated ERP system implemented in MoRTH and its two implementing agencies,
  have been completed.
