KEY ISSUES & STATUS Oct 18, 2024 Page 1 of 11 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Volcanic Eruption Emergency Project (P176943) 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions Between April and October 2024, implementation of multiple activities has been progressing as summarized below: Component 1: Early recovery income support (Allocated: US$7.5 million IDA; Disbursed: US$7.72 million) The Temporary Cash Transfers program and three phases of the Labor-Intensive Temporary Employment (LITE) program were successfully concluded. No progress has been made on other support services during the reporting period. Component 2: Restoration and “Building Back Better” of critical services and strengthening of emergency preparedness and response capacity (Allocated: US$29 million IDA and US$2 million EU Grant; Disbursed: US$5.76 million IDA and US$1.55 million EU Grant) Several activities have made notable progress, including the advancement of designs and constructions for key ministerial facilities and public infrastructure, the delivery of critical reconstruction equipment and tools, and the installation of seismic equipment at various stations across the country. As the procurement and initiation of other activities are underway, the Bank continues to provide technical support to the PIU and key implementing agencies to ensure timely resolution of issues and smooth implementation. Component 3: Project management (Allocated: US$3.5 million IDA; Disbursed: US$1.57 million) Project Implementation Unit (PIU): Contracts for several key roles have been extended to ensure implementation continuity.
