KEY ISSUES & STATUS Oct 14, 2024 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Water Emergency Relief Project (P179311) 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The mission reviewed implementation progress since the May 2024 mission. The project has made Moderately Satisfactory progress. AKF has signed subsidiary agreements with the Danish Committee for Aide to Afghan Refugees (DACAAR) and ActionAid. Both implementing agencies have agreed with the interim Taliban Authority (ITA) Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) on geographical coverage and project activities and have proceeded with site investigation and technical package development. By now, most of the administrative hurdles of project implementation have been overcome, and we expect disbursement and implementation progress will pick up from now on. A mid-term review is tentatively planned for end of November 2024. In the interim, the Bank will continue its weekly monitoring and technical discussions with AKF and UNOPS to help ensure that the agreed action plan targets are met. 5.
