KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions Oct 11, 2024 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report TAÏ NATIONAL PARK AREA EMISSION REDUCTIONS PAYMENTS PROJECT (P170309) The Government accessed its first ERPA payment, amounting to approximately USD$35 million for 7 million ton of CO2eq of verified ERs. The payment was successfully issued on June 6, 2024. This marks a significant achievement given that 70% of the total contractual ERs of 10 million ton of CO2eq have been met. This was made possible following the finalization of the validation and verification of the first Emission Reductions Monitoring Report by an independent third-party entity and meeting all the other prerequisites, including (a) finalizing the first Emission Reductions Monitoring Report and associated annexes on the implementation of the Benefit Sharing Plan (BSP), on the implementation of the safeguards plans, and on non-carbon benefits; (b) submitting the list of authorized signatories of the ER transfer form (c) submitting the list of government representatives who will manage the Carbon Assets Tracking System (CATS) to register and track ER units generated under the project; (d) signing the ER transfer form which included confirmation of the final number of ERs and the equivalent dollar amount; (e) uploading ERs data and equivalent USD payment in CATS; and (f) setting up client connection and submitting the Withdrawal Application. 5.
