Zambia - Country Partnership Framework Chair Summary* October 8, 2024 Executive Directors discussed the joint IDA/IFC/MIGA Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Zambia for FY2025-2029. Directors supported the CPF’s selectivity and the focus on the three High -Level Outcomes, with the aim to create more and better jobs, improve human capital, and enhance climate resilience. They appreciated the One WBG approach, stronger partnerships and knowledge base, opportunities for regional cooperation, and a sharper focus on outcomes. They stressed the need to focus on nutrition, digitalization, and infrastructure development, and to improve gender equality. They noted the alignment of the CPF with Zambia’s development vision and acknowledged the climate change challenges faced. Directors welcomed the authorities’ efforts to improve macroeconomic management and the progress made to date on debt restructuring, noting the lessons learned on the G20 Common Framework for other countries. They highlighted the importance of supporting the effort to improve transparency and accountability, anti-corruption measures as well as implementation capacity. Directors emphasized the need for IFC and MIGA, in collaboration with IDA, to step up engagement to support the private sector as a provider of jobs, improve credit access, and attract more investments.
