PROJECT DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVE 1.1 Development Objective Original Development Objective (Approved as part of Approval package on 26-Jun-2023) To support improvements in: (a) the equitable and effective coverage of public health services, and (b) the efficiency of the health system. 2. KEY ISSUES & STATUS 3.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions From May to September 2024, the Program for Effective Universal Health Coverage and National Health System Integration (P179595) made significant progress in institutionalizing key Program's activities. During the July 2024 supervision mission, the World Bank team successfully introduced new Secretaries to the Program-for-Results (PforR) instrument and agreed on key activities and Disbursement Linked Results (DLRs). Implementation of the Program continues satisfactorily. Notably, 6 out of 19 of the Program’s DLRs have been fully achieved, including the creation of a budgetary line for the National Integrated Health Plan and the establishment of a pediatric oncology network. A 7th DLR – linked to inpatient public health facilities certified as facilities committed to quality, which includes climate standards - has been partially met with 19 facilities certified to date. Close collaboration continues to support the transition from the WB-financed SUMAR operation, scheduled to close in November 2024.
