An additional financing (AF) in the amount of US$15 million from the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents (GFF) to the Project, was approved by the Board of Executive Directors on December 7, 2023, which introduced new activities for sustaining the provision of essential health services, particularly reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health. The project has continued supporting the roll-out of the Impilo COVID-19 vaccine authentication and the commodity tracking modules through the National Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. During the first six months of 2024, a total of 61 health facilities received training on EHR usage including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) commodity tracking and vaccination authentication in Mashonaland West, Midlands and Manicaland Provinces and 225 tablets were distributed to enhance EHR usage in 120 facilities. Apart from supporting the COVID-19 vaccine distribution, the project has supported cholera and polio vaccination campaigns and facilitated facility-based outreaches aimed at vaccinating girls in school grades 5 and 6 against HPV, and boys and girls aged 5 and 10 years with Tetanus- Diphtheria vaccines. Additionally, the MoHCC oversaw a reactive Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) campaign targeting individuals aged one year and older across multiple provinces. 5.
