Thus far a total of 8 country and 2 regional operations have been approved under the MPA, with 6 additional countries expected to be approved during the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years. Thus far, four projects have become effective (i.e. Ethiopia, STP, IGAD, ESCA-HC). Additional Financing of US$ 500,000 million was approved in May 2024, paving the way for inclusion of additional countries in subsequent phases of the Program. The Annual Work Plans for the entities that became effective under Phase 1 of the Program have been developed and reviewed by the World Bank. Implementation has commenced in ECSA-HC, IGAD, and STP with a total US$7.0 million already disbursed from Phase 1 (P180127). Effectiveness and implementation in the remaining countries is also expected to commence within the next six months. 5.
