Total disbursements are US$8.65M, or 3.46% of total project financing. Due to a Coup d'Etat, the project was under OP7.30 restrictions from July 26, 2023, to May 10, 2024, preventing disbursements and new contracts for nearly 10 months. During this period, the PIU conducted studies, launched procurement packages, mobilized local governments, and monitored safeguards. • Preliminary designs for US$73M in urban drainage works were completed during OP7.30. Detailed designs are expected to be completed by August 2024, bidding for the works expected to start by September 2024, with works starting in December 2024. Preliminary Designs for the US$6M Niamey dike rehabilitation were completed during the OP7.30 period. Detailed designs will be completed by September 2024, bidding for the works expected to start by October 2024, with works starting in January 2025. • Contracts worth US$7.5M for schools, health centers, and fire stations construction or rehabilitation were signed post- OP7.30, with works starting by end June 2024. Additional contracts for small municipal infrastructure, including flood protection in Maradi and Zinder were signed. A contract for the Niamey landfill studies was negotiated during OP7.30, with signature expected by July 2024. • Contracts for sanitation Master Plans for several cities were signed post-OP7.30, with studies beginning in July 2024. A solid waste management co-diagnostic for Niamey was conducted with WB support during the OP7.30 period. A capacity assessment for 11 municipalities was completed in late 2023. 5.
