KEY ISSUES & STATUS Apr 04, 2025 Page 1 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Capacity Building for Improved Gender-based Violence Response Project (P502471) 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The implementation of the project faced delays mainly due to the time that it has taken to establish the Project Implementation Unit (PIU). A Project Coordinator and Procurement Specialist have been hired, and the recruitment and hiring of the remaining PIU staff is underway. A first disbursement of US$1.4 million has also been processed. The last supervision mission on March 3-17, 2025, highlighted the need to accelerate the pace of implementation. The mission recommended moving forward with the following priority actions: (i) hiring the rest of the PIU staff (by 30 May 2025); (ii) launch of calls for tenders for technical consultancies of Components 1 and 2 (by 30 May 2025); (iii) identification and training of the project's GBV and safeguards focal points at the local level (by 30 April 2025); and (iv) establish the project steering committee and organize the first working meeting (by April 30, 2025). 5.
