KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions English The Social Registry has reached national coverage, encompassing complete data on 346,802 households. The comprehensive update of the registry data, which introduced new data collection processes and extended its coverage, has been completed in February 2025. A new update is also planned for Nouakchott and Nouadhibou in the coming weeks, as well as in certain localities of Hodh El Chargui affected by floods. It is a valuable tool for 25 governmental and non-governmental users, 17 of whom signed data usage protocols in 2024. The Social Registry is also working on a strategy to introduce on-demand registration. Meanwhile, the Tekavoul Social Transfer Program covers 131,364 extremely poor households, funded by both the project and the government’s budget. Additionally, the Shock-Response Programs reached 10,340 food insecure households during the 2024 lean season, including 10,340 through Tekavoul choc and 24,600 through Elmaouna. More information is available on the respective websites: http://www.rs.gov.mr; http://www.tekavoul.gov.mr/. The next mission is scheduled for June 2025.
