OBJECTIVE 1.1 Development Objective Original Development Objective (Approved as part of Approval package on 15-Mar-2017) The proposed Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve the extent, quality, and accessibility of water resources information and to strengthen the capacity of targeted water resources management institutions in India. Has the Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? No 2. KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The project has made outstanding progress in data generation and initiation of state water informatics centers. Out of 156,000 number of hydro-met stations configured in Water Information Management Systems (WIMS) about 140,000 number of stations have started sharing water resources data. These stations include both manual and real time sensor based data. Real time data amount to 41,000 stations out of which 13,000 stations are supported through non-NHP systems and are now available to agencies for various water resources management. All Implementing Agencies are now integrating their data with the National WIMS. The development of knowledge products has progressed well and hybrid trainings and webinars continued to strengthen the professional capacity across implementing agencies covering multiple topics including Hydromet and hydrological modelling. 5.
