KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions Feb 13, 2025 Page 1 of 18 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Djibouti Skills Development for Employment Project (P175483) The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MENFOP) and the Ministry of Labor (MT) continue to make progress in implementing project activities. Key achievements supported by the project are summarized below: 1. An action plan to improve the governance of technical and vocational training centers in two priority sectors, construction and logistics and transport, has been implemented. 2. A framework agreement between the Ministry of Labor and the Chamber of Commerce's Centre de Ressources et de Compétences (CRC) for the training of young people in port trade has been established,. and the training of the first cohort is underway. 3. In-company integration programs and practical work placements have been launched. 4. Online training programs in Djibouti city and in the regions, including refugees, have been launched. 5. Feasibility and sector studies for three new automotive, digital and energy clusters have been finalized. 6. Partnerships with the Chamber of Commerce, USAID-funded EDC project and with other actors and projects involved in vocational training, including refugees and the private sector, have been strengthened. 7. The first meeting of the project steering committee is scheduled for February 2025. This committee will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the Djibouti Skills project and ensuring effective governance and coordination of activities. 5.
