KEY ISSUES & STATUS Feb 03, 2025 Page 1 of 6 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Kosovo Water Security and Canal Protection Project (P133829) 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The Government of Kosovo and the World Bank agreed to extend the project closing date to June 30, 2025 to ensure that all works are completed. Works at the Buffer Reservoir (in the vicinity of Mihaliqi Division Object that is used for emergency supply of the cooling towers in Kosovo B Power Plant of Kosova) have been completed. All the planned rehabilitation works in the trapezoidal canal has also been completed. Works at the buffer reservoir have been completed as well as all the rehabilitation planned in the trapezoidal canals. Rehabilitation of the final 1.5 km of canal is underway and 95% of the rectangular canals have now been repaired. Under the project 16 aqueducts out of 18 have also been refurbished. Work to refurbish a further two aqueducts is ongoing and is expected to be completed by end of May 2025. To help Iber Lepenc Company monitor and manage water flow in real time a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system has been installed and is now functioning. This system allows the company to control equipment across the canal network as conditions change. 5.
