The actual number is 5,125 households, which have now (cumulative) (Number) been connected to BMLWE’s network. This corresponds to 21,525 beneficiaries. This indicator was achieved in 2018, and corresponds to the Lebanon receiving 24/7 achieving targets area in Achrafieh where 20,000 customer meters had been installed and where DMAs had water supply (Number) Jan 15, 2025 Page 3 of 8 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report LB- GREATER BEIRUT WATER SUPPLY (P103063) been established. Before the Project in 2015, people in the pilot area had an intermittent supply (10 hours each 48 hours) of about 50000 m3 per day; during summer, only 30000 m3 per day (about 6 hours supply each 48 hours). Thanks to the Project activities (rehabilitation of network, installation of meter, creation of DMAs, NRW monitoring, etc) in 2018, the pilot area managed to receive continuous water supply of 24/7, at an average 42000 m3 per day. Unfortunately, since 2019 and the onset of several crises shaking the country, BMLWE has been unable to maintain this level of service. Still, 20,000 customers, corresponding to 84,000 beneficiaries are connected to a rehabilitated network that should be able to supply 24/7 supply if power supply is assured to pump enough water in the system. It is to be noted that the total number of customers that switched to 24/7 service in the zones under the Greater Beirut Water Supply Project (GBWSP) is estimated at 30,000 covering additional 10,000 people within the project area. 6.2 Intermediate Results Indicators by Components Component 1: Bulk Water Supply Infrastructure Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) Closing Period Indicator Name Value Month/Year Value Date Value Date Value Month/Year 0.00 Dec/2010 0.00 13-Jun-2024 0.00 20-Dec-2024 1.00 Jun/2024 Comments on Construction ongoing.
