KEY ISSUES & STATUS 4.1 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The Greater Abidjan Port - City Integration Project was approved by the World Bank Board on June 29, 2018. The credit is effective since December 6, 2018. The project has 3 components and is progressing well towards achievement of the Project Development Objectives. All activities are expected to be completed by the project closing date, i.e. end of December 2025. The project will benefit around 5.4 million people in the Greater Abidjan. The first component on Urban Planning, Services, and Governance shows solid progress despite some challenges. The Detailed Urban Plans (PUds) and the governance structure for the Greater Abidjan have been finalized and are awaiting adoption. The field surveys and mapping for street addressing have been completed. Once the formal adoption of street names is completed, the installation of street nameplates will be carried out. Progress on the lagoon stations remains uneven, with delays primarily affecting the works at the Plateau station. The second component, focused on Urban Transport Infrastructure, is demonstrating significant progress. The port access road works were successfully completed. The Y4 highway works are advancing well, with Section 2 at 70% completion and Section 3 at 43% completion. Lastly, the Akwaba intersection works are nearing completion, marking steady advancement for this key infrastructure project. The third component on Logistics Services and Competitiveness is moving forward, with the completed National Logistic Plan and completed studies related to freight lagoon transport opportunities in Abidjan. Besides, a digital truck traffic management platform for the port of Abidjan is expected to be implemented from early 2025, following a successful pilot implemented by the Ministry of Transport. 5.
