The construction of contractor-led houses for the beneficiaries has commenced and damage assessment surveys are completed. The beneficiary list is approaching finalization. The major constraint towards progress is the lack of land title or consents for constructing replacement housing for beneficiaries. To date, 66 A1 two-room houses are completed, and 10 are under construction; 2 A2 one-room houses are completed, and 43 are under construction. The project has completed damage assessment surveys and commenced repairs. The beneficiary list is nearly finalized and currently 482 have been identified for new houses, 353 for repairs, and 139 for receiving climate resilience improvements. The Government is revising the implementation arrangements to accelerate construction and repairs. Technical assistance activities to strengthen the country’s resilience to natural disasters will commence in the second half of 2015.
