Regular training for fisheries MCS officers and observers continues to be provided. Component 2 (Coastal Fisheries): The ongoing contract with the Pacific Community (SPC) to deliver technical assistance to support the formation of a regional beche-de-mer fishery group and provide ongoing technical support to countries with BDM is now into its second year of implementation. Component 3 (Sustainable Financing for the Conservation of Critical Fishery Habitats): Consultancies for i) analysis and development of a Pacific Ocean Bond, ii) analysis of taxes and subsidies relevant to Pacific Ocean health, iii) development of a community marine managed area finance mechanism, iv) Pacific Ocean Finance Fellowship development and coordination and v) analysis and development of Pacific Ocean risk insurance have been advertised.
