Project (P113145) Overall Implementation Progress (IP)  Satisfactory  Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating  Moderate  Moderate Implementation Status and Key Decisions Project implementation has shown satisfactory progress in terms of overall project management, progress towards achievement of the Project Development Objective (PDO) and disbursements. All major civil works are ongoing and would be completed on or before July 31, 2017. Through the project, there has been increased sensitization and awareness creation campaigns on coastal erosion and potential effects of rise in sea levels in the coastal areas of Benin. There is the need for the national Government and the five participating municipalities (Cotonou, Abomey-Calavi, Seme-Kpodji, Ouidah and Porto Novo) to sustain the current momentum of payment of the counterpart funds as and when due. These funds are have played important roles in the purchase of land/alternative sites for municipal solid wastes collection points and transfer stations. They are also used for payment of compensation to Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
