The project has implemented notable activities in research and development of improved technologies under the four commodity systems (cassava, dairy, wheat and rice). The regional coordination aspects and harmonization of research activities are progressing well. The training and capacity building interventions undertaken by the project in all the program countries is Page 1 of 9 The World Bank Report No: ISR4382 facilitating implementation of the project. Objectives and implementation procedures of the project are well understood by the key stakeholders and the coordination efforts at national and regional levels have also shown significant improvement. The complementarities of project activities with the overall agricultural development efforts in the program countries are satisfactory. Thus, ownership and commitment to the development objectives of the project in all the program countries is generally satisfactory. However, the project need to put extra efforts to facilitate implementation of the (i) capacity building investments in the Regional Centers of Excellences, (ii) policy harmonization process, (iii) inventory of improved Public Disclosure Copy agricultural technologies, and (iv) training and human capacity building plans.
