Overall the project progress is slightly behind schedule, but elements for its acceleration are in place. The project has made improvement in knowledge sharing and capacitybuilding. Most of the training has been completed. About 1,000 provincial and district government leaders have been trained on the objective and mechanisms of the project. About 350 project officials have been trained on project management and implementation requirements of PAMSIMAS. 150 consultants have been trained on technical aspects of Water Supply and Sanitation, Financial Management and Procurement. Out of 116 existing Page 1 of 3 The World Bank Report No: ISR84 villages, 30 have started to receive supplementary Grant and is expected that all targeted Incentive Supplementary Grants (VIG) will be completed by the end of 2011.
