Implementation Status and Key Decisions
The project in the amount of US$5 million was signed on April 28, 2017 and became effective on July 7, 2017. Substantial progress has been achieved
pursuant to the signing of the UNFPA contract with a fully functional Project Implementation Unit and the official launch of Census on December 7,
2017. To date, nearly 50% of Grant proceeds have already been disbursed and counterpart funding from the Government of Haiti have been provided.
Moreover, most of preparatory activities to launch the Census Pilot have already been completed, including reception and operationalization of IT
equipment, finalization of the technical documentation including training materials, finalization of the Census Questionnaire. The Pilot Census is
expected to be launched in the first quarter of the calendar year 2018.
