The Madhya Pradesh DPIP-II is now working in 4,806 villages in fourteen districts. 404,612 poor households have been mobilized into 35,235 Self Help Groups (SHG) (117% of target) and 4,035 Village Development Committees (VDC). This platform of community institutions is providing the foundation to strengthen livelihoods of target households and communities. 303,293 SHG members have received credit from the VDCs. The skills trainings under the employment generation component Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR16408 continue to be strong (over 34,924 job placements and 138,189 jobs offered through job fairs). These outputs are beyond the original targets that the project aimed to achieve by the end of the project.
