The project is financed by a CIWA grant, which provides the primary support to NBD activities. Immediately after receiving the first tranche of funds, the NBD began recruitment for a new Regional Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Report No: ISR15701 Manager to head the Secretariat in Entebbe, and a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The recruitment process is completed and incoming staff start in August 2014. Work is also underway to collaborate with the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) and engage civil society in the next Nile Basin Development Forum in October 2014.
