This progress has largely been demonstrated by State-based Implementing Agencies. Katsina state formally joined ANRiN in June, 2020, completing the cohort of 12 states participating in ANRiN. The state primary health care development agencies of Kano, Nasarawa, Niger and Oyo have completed their Year 1 targets of nutrition sensitive antenatal care. Additionally, the states of Abia, Kano, Kaduna and Nasarawa have shared evidence of their achieving DLI results 6.1 and 6.2 to IERD for verification. Similarly, Ministry of Budget and National Planning and Federal Ministry of Education have submitted evidence to achievement of DLI result 2.1 and 2.2 to IERD for verification. Sluggish progress has been demonstrated in the last six months by the Federal Implementing Agencies. 10/25/2020 Page 1 of 18 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Nigeria- Accelerating Nutrition Results (P162069) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance Substantial Substantial Substantial Macroeconomic High High High Sector Strategies and Policies Moderate Moderate Moderate Technical Design of Project or Program Substantial Substantial Substantial Institutional Capacity for Implementation and High High High Sustainability Fiduciary Substantial Substantial Substantial Environment and Social Low Low Low Stakeholders Substantial Substantial Moderate Other -- -- Substantial Overall Substantial Substantial Substantial Results PDO Indicators by Objectives / Outcomes Increased utilization of quality, cost-effective nutrition services IN00892131 ►Infants 0-6 months exclusively breastfed (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 24.00 27.20 27.20 50.00 Date 31-Dec-2016 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 Updated National Average data from NNHS, SMART 2018 Comments: IN00892132 ►Children 6-24 months who receive micronutrient powders as part of complementary feeding (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 35.00 Date 30-Jun-2018 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 IN00892133 10/25/2020 Page 2 of 18 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Nigeria- Accelerating Nutrition Results (P162069) Children 6-24 months of adolescent girls who receive micronutrient powders as part of complementary feeding (Percentage, Custom Supplement) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 0.00 0.00 35.00 IN00892134 ►Children 6-59 months who receive zinc and ORS as treatment for diarrhea (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 6.00 20.80 20.80 40.00 Date 31-Dec-2015 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 Since Zn and ORS are reported separately in NNHS, SMART, 2018, this is the conservative median Comments: estimate of Zn or ORS coverage in 12 ANRiN states IN00892135 Children 6-59 months of adolescent girls (aged 15-19 years) who receive zinc and ORS and treatment for diarrhea (Percentage, Custom Supplement) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 6.00 20.80 20.80 40.00 IN00892136 ►Children 12-59 months dewormed twice a year (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 27.00 33.10 33.10 60.00 Date 31-Dec-2015 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 Updated median coverage from 12 ANRiN states from NNHS, SMART, 2018 Comments: IN00892137 Children 12-59 months of adolescent mothers (15-19 years of age) dewormed twice a year (Percentage, Custom Supplement) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 27.00 33.10 33.10 60.00 IN00892138 ►Pregnant women who consumed a minimum of 90 iron-folic acid tablets (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 20.50 22.05 22.05 40.00 Date 31-Dec-2013 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 IN00892139 Pregnant women (15-19 years) who consume a minimum of 90 iron-folic acid tablets (Percentage, Custom Breakdown) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 13.20 22.50 22.50 40.00 10/25/2020 Page 3 of 18 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Nigeria- Accelerating Nutrition Results (P162069) Date 31-Dec-2013 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 IN00892140 ►Pregnant women who receive intermittent presumptive treatment for malaria (at least 3 doses) (Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 14.90 6.85 6.85 40.00 Date 31-Dec-2016 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 Updated median performance from 12 ANRiN states from NNHS, SMART, 2018 Comments: IN00892141 Pregnant women (15-19 years) who receive intermittent presumptive treatment for malaria [at least 3 doses] (Percentage, Custom Breakdown) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 14.90 6.85 6.85 40.00 Date 31-Dec-2016 15-Mar-2020 10-Sep-2020 31-Dec-2023 Overall Comments PDO Project service delivery has only been initiated in 128 health facilities across 11 project states since end February 2020 in a staggered manner. As per records available, a total of 42,176 pregnant women have received nutrition sensitive antenatal care through at least three contacts for MIYCN counseling. This achievement is to be verified from the DHIS 2 portal. Additionally, four states have completed the mapping of nutritoin interventions in their states (Abia, Kaduna, Kano and Nasarawa). The achievement of this result is pending independent verification. There has been no progress on the remaining IRI in last six months.
