These activities will contribute to achieve several of the objectives set out for the different components. Component 1: Integration and improvement of MINERD's information systems. The results from the data quality audit from MINERD’s Education Management Information System (EMIS) completed last year were used to update MINERD’s EMIS strategy and helped develop guidelines and instruments for data quality monitoring. Around 300 MINERD’s technicians were trained for the implementation of these guidelines and the use of these instruments. Component 2: Training and dissemination of information. MINERD has been working on several activities to strengthen the production and use of data including: (i) the drafting of new regulations for inputting, processing, and using EMIS data, (ii) the development of plans for an education quality index based on EMIS data, and (iii) the use of EMIS data for identifying personnel needs and measuring performance. All these activities were carried out with training activities and workshops targeted at MINERD’s technicians at the national, regional, and district level.
