Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project Objective? No Components Table Name Component A1: Muzaffarpur-Sursand 400 kV Transmission Line (Non-IDA financed):(Cost $29.70 M) Component A2: Dhalkebar-Bhittamod 400 kV Transmission Line (non-IDA financed):(Cost $17.90 M) Component B1: Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inarwa Transmission Line and Substations:(Cost $118.60 M) Component B2: Synchronization of Operation of the Nepal and Indian Grids Component C: Technical Advisory Services:(Cost $11.00 M) Componet B3: Transmission Lines and IFMIS of NEA:(Cost $39.00 M) Overall Ratings Name Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO Moderately Satisfactory Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Moderately Satisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating Substantial Substantial Implementation Status and Key Decisions The Project has made good physical progress despite several challenges posed by the COVID-19 related pandemic. The Bharatpur-Bardaghat transmission line and the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa transmission line have made good progress in terms of construction of foundation and erection of towers. The progress of the Environment & Social (E&S) action plan is progressing as well albeit with some delay. The majority of agreed action plans are completed, and the remaining are either on-going or partially achieved. The Project has disbursed 74.5% of the original amount. The Dhalkebar substation has been completed and operational since August 2018. The other two substations at Hetauda and Inaruwa have been under construction since April 2019. The physical progress of the Hetauda and Inaruwa substations are satisfactory, with over 90% of the civil works 4/8/2021 Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Nepal-India Electricity Transmission and Trade Project (P115767) completed for Inaruwa substation and about 35% in Hetauda Substation. The Inaruwa substation is expected to be completed by June 30, 2021 and the Hetauda Substation is expected to be completed by December 2021. The construction progress of the HDI transmission line is satisfactory. The construction of 81% of tower foundations and the erection of 76% of the towers have been completed, and 96% of equipment supplies have been delivered. The bids were cancelled for procurement of system integrator for the Enterprise Resource Planning system for NEA due to high bid price.
