The PIU will follow up with both agencies to get the final reports so the results framework reflects the final numbers. The remaining activities for the project fall under FAO to support crop and livestock production, and this ISR reflects the latest data received from FAO (through September 2018). For the project, WFP has been responsible for general food delivery and treatment of moderate acute malnutrition through blanket supplementing feeding and targeted supplementary feeding. UNICEF has been responsible for the following areas: 11/22/2018 Page 1 of 9 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report South Sudan Emergency Food and Nutrition Security Project (P163559)  Nutrition (focusing on children pregnant and lactating women): treatment of severe acute malnutrition; nutrition training and awareness raising; Vitamin A supplementation (children 6-59 months) and deworming (children 12-59 months)  Health: treating common childhood diseases and malaria prevention for children <5; Measles immunization for children > 6 months and <15 years; Training health workers on malaria testing and treatment,  WASH: Providing integrated WASH services for communities, health and nutrition facilities; Hygiene promotion; Rehabilitating/construction of existing WASH facilities in communities and health/nutrition centers; Capacity building on WASH O&M  Child Protection: Providing protection services to the most vulnerable children and women; Supporting the family tracing and reunification and case management of separated, unaccompanied or missing children, extremely vulnerable children; Providing of psychosocial assistance and child-friendly spaces to children and adolescents; Provision of cash and material assistance to extremely vulnerable children and families, implementing GBV activities; WFP and UNICEF delivered most services through the Rapid Response Mechanism, with FAO joining on some. UNICEF also had established sites where they delivered services. Deliveries were carried out in 44 different locations across Greater Bahr el Ghazal, Unity, Jonglei and Upper Nile. Ninety-two percent of WFP and UNICEF activities were in Jonglei, Lakes, Unity, Upper Nile FAO is delivering in 8 payams across Renk and Panyikang counties in Upper Nile; 21 payams across Aweil East, Aweil South and Aweil West in Northern Bahr el Ghazal; and 8 payams across Bor, Duk, and Twic East in Jonglei. WFP and UNICEF are close to meeting or have exceeded their targets based on the data received thus far. The next ISR will reflect the final numbers from contract closing reports. FAO has exceeded all of its targets already with the exception of post-harvest processing, which has been delayed due to supplier problems. Those activities should be underway by the next ISR. UNICEF constructed 170 latrines in Unity state: 76 in Bentiu, 90 in Koch, and 4 in Terekeka hospital, and completed construction of 10 new latrine blocks in the PoC in Wau. Comments: Contributing to post-project sustainability is the training of 123 community hygiene promoters and dissemination hygiene awareness messages to 90,842 people. Seven water management committees (43 members) in Lokicha, Lokubuwo, Napotpot, Niemni, Daandok, Kuach, and Kadet have been trained to manage their water infrastructure, and 53 hand pump mechanics received refresher training to ensure sustainable operation & maintenance of water facilities. Jul – Sep. 2018: In July additional 9,338 households received assorted crop seeds and tools in Jonglei, Comments: Ulang and Renk. Of the 9,338 HH, 1,838 received seed through seed fairs in Renk (544), and Bor South (1 294). The other 7 500 received assorted crop seed through direct distribution in Ulang Livestock restocking was awaiting the release of funds and should be commencing now. FAO secured all the fishing kits (twines and hooks). The kits have been released to all the partners between May and June 2018. Distribution will be carried out between August and October. Measles and Penta 3 vaccines were given to 37,864 and 4074 children aged 6 months to 15 years, respectively. Ante Natal Care (ANC) services including malaria prophylaxis were provided to 3,387 pregnant women. Protective services include Over 54,149 beneficiaries gained access to sustained, improved drinking water and 14,752 people gained access to basic sanitation services. UNICEF reached 16,635 children (44% girls and 56% boys) reached through psycho-social services and (PSS) and family tracing and reunification (FTR). PSS were also provided to 7,295 adults (61% women and 39% men). Forty-eight unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) were referred for support services and 60 extremely vulnerable children received material assistance. Mine risk education and prevention services were provided to 1,294 individuals (27% girls, 33% boys,14% women, 26% men) living in high mine risk areas. Trained social worked provided PSS to 1726 vulnerable people (71% women, 0.5% men, and 29% girls), and seven safety audits were conducted to support GBV risk mitigation. GBV protection messages to disseminated to 6530 people (46% women, 38% men, 8% girls, and 9% boys). A rapid seed security assessment (RSSA) Jan/Feb 2018 showed significant availability of seed from progressive farmers, farmer groups/cooperatives and a few seed companies supported by Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). Seed/input fairs are one method for distributing necessary farm inputs that support increase commerce in the locality and generate income for seed and tool producers. These will supplement direct distribution of inputs. Implementing partners working in Aweil East, Aweil South, Aweil West, Renk, and Bor South have been trained in how to support input fairs. Comments: FAO provided two trainings of trainers (ToT) to 57 extension facilitators from six partner NGOs and extension officers from Aweil East, Aweil South, Aweil West, Bor South, Duk, Twic East, Ulang, Panyikang, and Renk.
