In addition, a full-day technical project launch workshop was held during the mission to present all relevant aspects of the project: coordination, safeguards, procurement, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation. The project coordination mechanisms are yet to be fully activated and city-level coordination mechanisms set in place. Tendering of the main investment, the Manga-Zabré RN29 (79 kilometers) was finalized and the contract awarded. The works will be launched once the Resettlement Action Plan has been implemented and compensation paid in full to all project affected persons. The prefeasibility studies on urban investments are finalized and the Component B investment program in the five project cities (Dédougou, Koudougou, Manga, Ouahigouya, and Tenkodogo) has been largely finalized. The technical and safeguards studies for these investments are to be launched.
