Cumulative disbursements now stand at 36 percent of US$32 million of the loans and grants totaling US$12 million. As of June 2014, approximately 64 percent of the project resources are committed. Disbursement will improve in calendar year 2014 with implementation of the dual-fuel 10MW power plant contract. All activities under Component A (Distribution Services) have been completed. For Component B, the contract for the supply and installation of the 10MW dual-fuel power plant is progressing well and it is expected to commission the power plant by February 2015. GPOBA program: the rate of connection of new users slowed down substantially in the first semester of 2013 and the share of users receiving service after three months of the connection worsened in the second semester. This resulted in 7,796 new connections by the end of the year, which is significantly below target. For the Lighting Africa program, RREA procured a second order of lighting products for approximately 30,000 additional lights and being commercially distributed by the retailers.
