Under Component 1 (Hazard Risk Assessment), transport assets are being analyzed for ten provinces with a detailed assessment for Gulf and Central provinces, together with building capacity of Department of Works in this area. Under component 2, tidal gauge was installed in Kimbe Wharf as part of support to National Maritime Safety Agency in September 2014. Supply and installation of material testing equipment for Department of Mineral Policy & Geo Hazards Management and automated weather stations for National Weather Service is in process and will be delivered in February. Small demonstration works to reduce disaster risks are underway on the Magi highway to build capacity in the area of transport disaster mitigation and increase resilience.
