Information About Project Name &Location of Sub-project YAVUZ HEPP located in Küre, committed to Kastamonu province. Project Sponsor AREM Enerji Üretim AŞ Project Cost 10,514,941 USD Installed Generation Capacity 2 unit*3,01 MW/unit=6,02 MW Key Dates of Implementation Expropriation was done by the civil court of first instance with the decision number 08.05.2008/1598-1 General Information Küre district is 59 km away from Kastomonu and 30 km from Black Sea. Its elevation is 950 metres. There are villages located in Küre. Yavuz HEPP is located on Kayadibi and Alacık villages. In order to complete the Yavuz HEPP, 59,983.77 m2 area was expropriated by the decision of civil court of first instance with the decision number 1598-1 in 2008. 85,289.73 TL was paid for this expropriation. Some of the expropriated areas are uncultivated lands for many years. 15 graves in a graveyard in the Alacık village were expropriated. It was 1,057.14 m2 and paid 3,867.42 TL for this expropriation. These graves are in the dam site of the project. 39,347.24 m2 areas (25 parcels) were voluntarily purchased from 16 villagers. For this voluntary purchased 85,418.77 TL was paid. There is no economical loss for the owners. 140,650.87 m² land was rented from Kastamonu province, Küre Forest Management Directorate. Permission was taken from Ministry of Environment and Forest with the decision number 153/534 with the date of 20.11.2008. Permission is valid since 08.05.2057. Specify measures and dates of delivery. 4.Public Awareness, Consultations, and Communication In order to discuss the implementation of the project details and its environmental and social benefits and impacts, a meeting was held on 9th of April, 2009 at 14.00 o’clock in Alacık village, Küre town which is the closest location to Yavuz Hydropowerplant. The participants were informed about the project details, contributions and benefits. The technical issues of the project were explained. And a power point presentation related to climate change, carbon trade and the contribution of the project to the environment and sustainable development was made by project representatives. There were few concerns, the concerns and the solutions are listed below.
