The Program is intended to run during two lean phases in a calendar year - 60 days of employment are offered typically from September to November (phase 1) and 40 days of employment are offered from March to April (phase 2). Disbursements are linked to a set of outcome indicators that mainly focus on (a) strengthening the Program's targeting approach to better reach vulnerable households in extreme poverty, and especially women; (b) providing better governance as reflected in revised program Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR3604 implementation guidelines that are transparently applied and publicly disclosed; and (c) strengthening program monitoring and evaluation systems. The project became effective on January 5, 2011 and the disbursement against the first set of indicators is about to be made as all the agreed targets for the first scheduled disbursement have been met. Given the Public Disclosure Copy IDA support to EGPHP, the program is now known as the Employment Generation Program for the Poorest (EGPP).
