At the time of the Mid-term Review in October 2013, 12,867 people (49% women) had earned additional Page 1 of 4 The World Bank Report No: ISR13230 income equivalent to $8 per day through working on project-financed small works identified by the receiving communities. This achievement already exceeds the end-of-project target of 10,000 people. Some 98% of these beneficiaries are considered among Ulaanbaatar’s most vulnerable citizens, which include single female-headed households, the unemployed, the disabled, and low-income households. The project has completed the construction of 4,500m of pathways, two foot bridges, one bore hole, one public toilet, one mineral water protection site, 1.3km of drainage, one youth center, and procurement of equipment for six community halls, which together are benefiting more than 30,000 people in Public Disclosure Copy ger areas every day. All the completed large works have passed State Inspection, and the assets were transferred to the Property Relations Agency of the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar (MUB). Small-scale community works were transferred to District Governments. A small reallocation of Grant funds will be necessary to ensure the remaining tasks have sufficient funds.
