The current Project Development Objective (PDO) rating is Moderately Satisfactory. The project is expected to achieve all of the four PDOs by the revised closing date of June 30, 2019. The two PDO-level indicators for the e-Government component are on track for achievement by the project's closing or has been exceeded. The first indicator on the percentage of public sector officials that have undertaken one or more e-Government skills courses at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is close to achievement (36% currently for 40% target). The second indicator on five (5) places improvement for Bangladesh's ranking in the UN's E-Government Development Index has been significantly exceeded (current ranking at 115 globally against targeted ranking of 145). 12/10/2018 Page 1 of 5 The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report BD: Leveraging ICT Growth, Employment and Governance Project (P122201) The IT and IT-Enabled Services (IT/ITES) component’s two PDO level indicators on IT/ITES industry revenue and employment have also made steady progress in the last year. The IT/ITES industry revenue target has been met, and the employment target is likely to be met by the project's closing date on June 31, 2019. The government's Development Project Proforma has been officially revised, and the project is expediting the implementation of the revised activities. There is a need to ensure completion of all activities, including the current and new ones, by the project's closing. The PCU and Bank team are also working closely with relevant government counterparts to expedite the design adjustments and the subsequent government approval processes for the follow on "Integrated Digital Government" (IDG) project, in view of the change in institutional context within the ICT Division of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and IT. (MOPTIT).
