 Implementation Status and Key Decisions

Implementation has lagged substantially in the first years of implementation and progress toward the objectives has been limited. Finalization of
project staffing, detailed implementation planning and budgeting, and preparation of some key procurement packages are still ongoing. Light
detection and ranging (LiDAR) data essential to planning coastal resilience investments has been acquired and has now been validated and will be
shared with the RMI Government for use in their Climate Vulnerability Assessment and other assessments as required. An Emergency
Management Specialist has been recruited to provide support to RMI and will be based in Majuro once Covid-19 travel restrictions are lifted. While
implementation is behind schedule, the project is still expected to achieve its objectives.
