The project remains relevant to Nigeria especially given the country's need for social and infrastrcture investment. However, the process of identification of PPPs is still unclear and is the main cause for project delay. The PIU will review the PPP implementation framework with the objective of streamlining the process. 2. Under the restructuring, the emphasis of the project will shift from Technical Assistance for capacity development, to the provision of funding for PPP projects to the tune of $85 million. 3. The review of the pipeline of prospective projects provides reason for optimism as to the ability of the project to bring a small number of transactions to closure within the project implementation period. Discussions with officials from various Ministries and agencies point to a significant number of further prospective transactions.
