Implementation Status and Key Decisions
The project became effective on July 13, 2016 and was officially launched on September 20, 2016, in the presence of key stakeholders in the national
and district governments. The project launch was accompanied by a three-day training (September 20-22, 2016) with the RUDP teams, particularly for
District Government officials, covering all aspects of project implementation. The detailed engineering designs (DEDs) for all six secondary cities and
City of Kigali (COK) are currently being reviewed and finalized, and bidding documents are anticipated in January 2017.
