The expansion and improvement works on the 33km of Narayanghat-Mugling (N-M) Road has achieved on average 93% physical progress. The remaining 7 percent are expected to be completed by August 1, 2018, subject to monsoon season weather conditions. Works for slope stabilization measures commenced in April 2018 with more than 70% progress achieved. Areas at risk for landslides need to be reassessed after the monsoon season and stabilization works continued. Key contracts for the implementation of the Plant Protection Directorate (PPD) Lab at Harihar Bhawan, and the Kathmandu Inland Container/Clearance Depot (ICD) at Chovar have been awarded. It is expected constructions works will commence by October 1, 2018 (after the monsoon season ends). With regards to the Nepal National Single Window (NNSW), the Government of Nepal conveyed a strong commitment to accelerate implementation. In consideration of this, the Bank is willing to consider a one-year closing date extension.
