A total of 27 sub-projects are under implementation, distributed as follows: 2 (cocoa), 6 (coffee), 4 (ecotourism), 8 (forestry - timber and non-timber), 5 (honey), 1 (silvopastoral) and 1 (wildlife), across 5 states of the country - Chiapas & Tabasco (8), Oaxaca (11), Peninsula (Campeche and Quintana Roo) (8). The regional project team is well established, with 3 regional coordinators based in Oaxaca, San Cristobal and Chetumal, managing project activities on the ground. The project implementation processes are reaching planned levels with all 27 sub-projects implementing their activities. The project is developing very interesting tools for the definition of "biodiversity friendly" production practices and is exploring linkages with the private sector and financial institutions, along with extensive South-South exchange activities. The project held its mid-term review in Oaxaca in October 2015 with the participation of representatives from all 27 producer associations, as well as public officials and private sector representatives. The project was recognized for developing good practices for improving the productivity and competitiveness of producer organizations in the Southern parts of Mexico, while safeguarding their social and environmental context. 6/30/2016 Public Disclosure Copy Page 2 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Sustainable Production Systems and Biodiversity (P121116) 6/30/2016 Public Disclosure Copy Page 3 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Sustainable Production Systems and Biodiversity (P121116) Risks Systematic Operations Risk-rating Tool Risk Category Rating at Approval Previous Rating Current Rating Political and Governance  --  Low  Low Macroeconomic  --  Low  Low Sector Strategies and Policies  --  Low  Low Technical Design of Project or Program  --  Low  Low Institutional Capacity for Implementation and Sustainability  --  Moderate  Moderate Fiduciary  --  Moderate  Moderate Environment and Social  --  Low  Low Stakeholders  --  Low  Low Other  --  --  -- Overall  --  Low  Low Results Global Environmental Objective Indicators PHINDGEOTBL  Areas brought under enhanced biodiversity protection (ha)(Hectare(Ha), Core) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 8754.00 11861.00 34500.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 6/30/2016 Public Disclosure Copy Page 4 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Sustainable Production Systems and Biodiversity (P121116) PHINDGEOTBL  Producers applying biodiversity-friendly production practices(Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 3141.00 3618.00 6900.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 PHINDGEOTBL  Share of sales of goods and services produced under biodiversity-friendly practices(Percentage, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 1.48 3.89 12.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 Overall Comments Intermediate Results Indicators PHINDIRITBL  Producer groups participating in biodiversity-friendly business plans (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 185.00 185.00 190.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 PHINDIRITBL  Producers that complete a training program in biodiversity-friendly practices (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 3063.00 3123.00 2300.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 6/30/2016 Public Disclosure Copy Page 5 of 8 Public Disclosure Copy The World Bank Implementation Status & Results Report Sustainable Production Systems and Biodiversity (P121116) PHINDIRITBL  Technical Service Providers (TSPs) are contracted and supporting producer groups (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 2.00 25.00 31.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 PHINDIRITBL  Producer associations that provide quality control services to group members are established (Number, Custom) Baseline Actual (Previous) Actual (Current) End Target Value 0.00 2.00 4.00 17.00 Date -- 11-Jun-2015 02-Oct-2015 31-Aug-2017 PHINDIRITBL  Business alliances with buyers for marketing of bio-labeled products are established.
