Republic of Chad: Enhanced Capacity Towards Sustainable Petroleum Sector
Management Project
First Amendment to the Grant Agreement
We refer to the Grant Agreement ("Agreement"), dated December 1, 2015, between the
International Development Association ("World Bank"), acting as administrator of grant funds provided
by various donors under the Africa Extractive Industry Trust Fund (AEITF) and the Republic of Chad
("Recipient") for the abovementioned Project. We also refer to a letter from the Recipient's Minister
of Petroleum and Energy, dated February 5, 2018, therein requesting specific modifications to the
Agreement.
We are pleased to inform you that the World Bank agrees to your request and consequently
proposes to amend the Agreement as follows:
I.     Paragraph 1.D of Section 2.01 to the Annex to the Agreement is deleted in its entirety and
replaced with the following:
"D. Carrying out an initial assessment for the establishment ofa petroleum cadaster."
Please note that the capitalized terms used in this letter ("Amendment Letter") and not defined
herein have the meanings ascribed to them in the Agreement as applicable.
Please confirm your agreement with the foregoing amendment by signing and dating this
Amendment Letter in the spaces provided below. All other provisions of the Agreement, except as
amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect.

This Amendment Letter shall be executed in two counterparts each of which shall be an
original and shall become effective upon receipt by the World Bank of one countersigned original of
this Amendment Letter.
