The key components of the project are well advanced in rolling out the second cohort of the school prep ration program at start of the school year in September 2016, launching initial steps to establish 100 Community based Kindergartens (CbKs) in the targeted low income and underserved communities country wide and in piloting an inclusive education model to enhance institutional capacity for early diagnosis, customized pedagogy and enhanced social support and counseling for integrating children with learning disability into regular schooling. The procurement of the design and renovation of sanitary facilities as well as the furniture and learning materials is well underway for the selected CbKs. The project expanded its communications, advocacy and outreach through TV broadcast, print and social media to raise public awareness of the benefits of early childhood education and the project supported programs, which resulted positive public response in growing demand for the school preparation program and CbKs services.
